For the past three months, I think I must have tried on about one hundred bridal gowns. During this tedious process, I always went back to one particular dress. This dress had a special something about it. It was a dress that had captured my heart and attention and I could not possibly get this dress out of my head. That was… until today. Here is one of the most ironic and ‘meant to be’ stories that has ever happened to me.
This morning, I walked into ‘Robyn Lynn’s Bridal Shop’ with the intention of buying this dress… We’ll just call it ‘Dress A’. I took a picture outside the store, announced that I was buying my wedding dress to everyone in the store, and tried it on one last time before I would buy it. Then, a photographer/ journalist from a local newspaper walks in and would like to write an article on entreprenuers/ small businesses in Lakeland. Therefore, he asked if I would like to pose as a bride with the owner of the store. Who are you kidding… Of course I would!! I was thrilled!! But, I needed to change dresses in order for my future husband not to see me in my wedding gown in the newspaper. So… my mom pulls a wedding gown off the rack in my size for me to try it on for the picture. I walked out of the dressing room and took pictures in this wedding gown for the newspaper. I could not stop starring at this dress… I was just prancing and dancing in this dress. It is quite possible to say that it was ‘love at first sight’. To make a long story short, I walked in to buy one dress and I walked out with another. Is this a coincidence?!?! If I was not at this store at the exact same moment as the journalist, I am positive I would have bought ‘Dress A’. And, ‘Dress A’ might have been a mistake because I absolutely love ‘Dress B’ and I am thrilled that the newspaper story is going to document the moment that I found my wedding gown. 🙂
